Melt-In-Your-Mouth Bread Pudding 

Serves 2

1/4 cup cream or milk

2 teaspoon sugar

1 egg

1/4-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon vanilla

2 cups torn bread (1 slice usually equals 1 cup)


  1. Preheat oven to 350

  2. Whisk the eggs, sugar, cream and spices in a bowl.

  3. Add bread, toss well and pour into a ramekin put in a ramikin or baking dish and bake at 375 for 40 min or until bread is slightly springy from the cooked eggs.

  4. Dust with powdered sugar or a touch of maple syrup.

  5. A special addition is a Bourbon Vanilla Sauce, made by melting vanilla ice cream in a saucepan over medium high heat and adding a splash of bourbon. Cook for one minute more and serve.



Vegan: Use a non-dairy milk such as almond or soy milk. Omit egg and add 2 additional tablespoons milk of choice.

Gluten Free: Use a gluten free bead.

Dairy Free: Use a non-dairy milk such as almond or soy milk.

Diabetic: Substitute 1 tablespoon Stevia for sugar and use a whole wheat or whole grain bread.

TIP: For each serving, use a ratio of 1 cup torn bread to 1 egg to ¼ cup cream to 1 tablespoon sugar and a pinch of cinnamon and salt.
